Step 7

  • While you are pressing the 'Push-Link' button on your Philips Hue Bridge, tap 'Discover Devices' in the Amazon Alexa App.

Step 8

  • The Amazon Alexa App will show via a pop that it is looking for devices.

  • Keep pressing the 'Push-Link' button on your Philips Hue Bridge.

Step 9

  • After the Amazon Alexa App has finished the device discovery process, you should see your Hue Lights listed under Devices.

  • You will now be able to control your bulbs individually via voice commands, by for example saying

"Alexa, turn on Hue Lamp 1", assuming 1 of your Hue Lights is named Hue Lamp 1.

  • As you will likely want to be able to say..

    "Alexa, turn on lights"

.. and simultaneously turn on multiple lights, we have to proceed by creating groups in the Amazon Alexa App.

  • On the connected home page in the Amazon Alexa App, scroll up to the 'Groups' section and tap 'Create group'.

Step 11

  • Name your new group 'Lights'.

  • Check the boxes of the Hue Lights you would like to include in your new group.

Step 12

  • Scroll down and tap 'Save'.

Step 13

  • Your newly saved group named 'Lights' will indicate to have included the Hue Lights you have selected.

Step 14

  • Have fun!

  • You will now be able to control your grouped Hue Lights via your Amazon Echo with the following voice commands:

    "Alexa, turn on lights."

    "Alexa, turn off lights."
